Well, this is a particular brand of crazy I haven’t seen before. It’s almost refreshing, really.
Through mysterious and mystical forces, your world never has and never will exist. But fear not, a tremendously kind lord is taking care of everything, because he has nothing better to do with his time than recreate the world. Add in some shadowy staff, an obvious ulterior motive, some attractive heroes, a couple of twists and betrayals, a suspicious request for record keeping, and I can work with this. If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s record keeping.
Of course I prefer to do my record keeping in the comfort of the Hanged Man and not in a random room of a keep run by an insane nobleman who writes strange letters on his prisoners while they’re unconscious.
What have you gotten yourself into this time, Varric?
I’m sure this is Hawke’s fault. It always is. Well, aside from all the times it was Rivaini’s. And Blondie’s. Or the elf-
Andraste’s dimpled buttcheeks. I’ve got to get myself some better friends.

You've got a friend here, at least. Many people here can't say the same.
[Text]
How wonderfully accommodating of our dear lord, to imprison one of my friends, as well as myself.
[Text]
And here I thought you couldn't voice sarcasm through writing.
[Text]
Oh, it's nothing, really. If you put enough sarcasm into something, it'll come across through any medium.
Well. That, and I happen to have a natural talent for that sort of thing.
[Text]
[Text]
You seem remarkably calm for a prisoner.
[Text]
I'm going to find out what's going on.
[Text]
You and me both.
[Text]
[Loathe as he is to suggest it...]
Maybe we should pool resources, then.
[Text]
[Bloody flaming Deep Roads.
However loathe Riku is to suggest it, Varric is definitely not loathe to hear it. He's entirely too used to having a network of contacts and sources to share information with. First compliments, now good plans? Varric likes this one.]
Silver-tongued and smart. Don't have much yet, seeing as I just got here, but when I do. Sounds like a plan to me.
[Text]
No guarantees. From what I've gathered, this has happened to several people here before. They were brought there by some sort of "savior" as well, though I'm not entirely sure what his goals were. From the sound of it, they were there for a while before turning up here.
[Long enough for Xanth to form some sort of grudge against him, at any rate.]
[Text]
And I thought one lunatic like this was bad. But, if there's anything the world likes, it's throwing more crazy at people.
I wonder if that means they were in it together, or if this guy is poaching people who've already been "rescued" by another "savior."
[Text]
[Although other people from the Elegante knew a younger version of him... that's something Riku doesn't want to try and reconcile, though. Not past what they've already come up with, at any rate.]
What about you? Were you anywhere else before coming here? Aside from your own world, I mean.
[Judging by his words so far, Riku's betting not, but it can't hurt to make sure.]
[Text]
[Which doesn't make Varric exactly thrilled.]
No where I didn't go to more or less of my own violation. I was in my own city before I woke up here.
[Text]
[Riku notes Varric's response, but doesn't comment on it. That part's not important anymore.]
I think the first thing we need to find out is how far the keep reaches. Figure out the boundaries, where we can and can't go. That sort of thing.
[And if there's anything in particular that -isn't- there that should be, maybe they'll have their first clue as to their host's intentions.]
[Text]
Good idea. Always nice to know how far our prison extends. And where it doesn't.
[Text]
That's not the only reason. But I'd rather not write down all our plans here, if they're going to be reading what we write in the records.
[Text]
Don't have to tell me twice, Silver. You ever want to meet in person, just let me know.
Until then, well. I'll be spending my time wisely.
[Text] ...I'm pretty sure Varric is what Riku would've grown up to be if he hadn't screwed up. :|a
I'll keep that in mind. The same goes for you, too.
[Text] XD don't tell Varric that. He'll want to get Riku back on the path of growing up awesome
Duly noted. On the off chance this place has a tavern, that'll probably be where you can find me.
[Text] THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS TO SEE also way to read the maps correctly, self
[...]
Good luck.
[Text] THAT IS GOOD because now it might happen. >.> Also I saw nothing, nope.
To you as well. We'll probably need it.
